Bushes and Saddles: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a male and a female brass bush?

The Synerji Brass Male Bush fits externally on the conduit connector where conduit enters a steel DB board or enclosure, giving a firm mechanical connection. The Synerji Brass Female Bush threads onto the connector from inside the enclosure, giving a smooth entry that prevents damage to cable insulation. Both come in 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm.

What size conduit saddle do I need?

Match the saddle to your conduit diameter. The Synerji Galvanised Bar Saddle comes in 16mm, 20mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm for standard PVC and steel conduit. The Synerji Galvanised Hospital Saddle comes in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm, packed 50 pieces per box, which suits contractors and longer surface runs.

How do I bend PVC conduit without kinking it?

Use a bending spring. The Synerji Bending Spring is pushed inside the conduit so the tube can be bent by hand without kinking or flattening. It comes in 20mm, 25mm and 32mm, with a separate code for each size (SYESP20, SYESP25 and SYESP32), so choose the spring that matches your conduit.

Are these conduit fittings corrosion resistant?

Yes. The Synerji bar saddles are galvanised steel, which resists corrosion and helps in roof spaces, garages and outbuildings, and the hospital saddles are also galvanised. The male and female bushes are solid brass for durability and corrosion resistance. To fix the conduit once it is shaped, use the bar or hospital saddles.
