SMD 24V Strip Light: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the IP20 and IP65 SMD strip lights?
Both Synerji 24V strips carry 140 SMD 2835 LEDs per metre with CRI 90 and come in 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white or 6000K daylight. The IP20 strip (SYSTRFLX01–03) is 8mm wide for dry indoor areas such as cabinets and shelves. The IP65 strip (SYSTRFLX04–06) suits damp spaces, concealed lighting and signage backlighting.
Which driver do I need for a 24V SMD strip light?
Use a 24V driver rated above the total wattage of the strip it powers; the IP20 strip draws 9.6W per metre. Synerji offers 24V drivers in IP20 (60W to 300W) and IP67 (36W to 200W) versions, so see our 24V Strip Light Drivers collection. Installation by a qualified electrician.
Can I cut the SMD strip light, and how long can one run be?
Yes. Both strips can be cut every 50mm (0.05m), with a maximum run of 5m per power feed. They are supplied as 20m rolls and are not dimmable. To finish the IP20 strip you also need mounting clips, strip-to-wire connectors and, for a clean look, an aluminium channel.
