This Eurolux solar garden spike light has a crackle-effect ball on a stainless steel stem, in a chrome and black finish. It charges in the sun during the day and switches on automatically at night, giving a soft cool white glow along beds and paths for up to 6 hours.

It is sold in packs of 12, enough to line a path or edge a flower bed in one go. At 370mm high and 65mm in diameter, it sits low among plants as a marker light rather than a security light. Push the spikes into soil where the solar cells get full sun; the IPX4 rating means it can handle splashing from sprinklers and rain, and the battery is replaceable.
