220V Strip Light: frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 220V COB and 220V SMD strip lights?
The Synerji 220V COB strip has 480 LEDs per metre for a seamless line, is IP65 with CRI 90 and comes in 3000K, 4000K or 6000K. The Switch2led 220V strip uses 2835 SMD LEDs at 9W per metre behind a prismatic diffuser, in Warm White, Day Light, Red, Green or Blue. Both have a 120° beam angle.
Can I cut a 220V strip light to length?
Yes, at the correct cut points. The Synerji 220V COB strip cuts every 0.05m with a maximum run of 5m, and needs a 220V power supply and an end cap. The Switch2led strip cuts every 10cm and, according to the supplier, runs up to 50m without volt drop. Installation by a qualified electrician.
Is there a strip light I can put up without an electrician?
Yes. The LED Neon Rope Light is USB powered, so it plugs into a USB port or adapter with no electrical work. It is 10m long, cycles through 7 RGB colours by remote or app, and the rope is rated IP68. It suits shelves, desks, TV units and festive decorating.
